Sports Physicals

The Good Clinic offers sports physicals to youth ages 12 and older. Also called the pre-participation physical evaluation (PPE), this evaluation is required every three years in the state of Minnesota for student competing in interscholastic sports. Your school may require them on an annual basis, so be sure to check with your coach or activities director.

Frequently asked questions

  • Why are sports physicals important?
    • The purpose of the PPE is to assess whether there are any medical reasons a student cannot compete in their chosen sport.
  • How long does a Good Clinic sports physical take?
    • Most of our sports physicals take about 20 – 30 minutes. At the end of your child’s visit, your provider will complete any medical forms required and will review the results with you and your child.
